...Do you read them top to bottom, or vice-versa?
I read them top to bottom.

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.

I read them bottom to top. I think that's chronological order, since I have this one post I never delete and all the other ones appear above it.

Top to bottom. If they're all about adding stuff to galleries, I read a few, scan the rest, then just delete the rest.

I read them based on the project that the user commented on.
No, seriously. I really do that. 
I guess it's because of trends I've seen with my project comments. Most people usually comment on my newest projects, animation projects, or my featured "Balloon Pop" project with a compliment, so I look through those last. If someone comments on an older project of mine, I assume it's something serious that they want to tell me (since older projects aren't viewed that often) so I look through those first.
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease

If it's a stream of comments on one project, I delete those and only view the replies. Then I look at my project and look through the comments. Otherwise, on a less busy day (IE, today) I do it chronologically (bottom to top).
I might return for a little while.
