Who was the first famous Scratcher?

Who was it? To me, I think it was swifty2 or Astro947.

Re: Who was the first famous Scratcher?

That depends on what you consider "famous" to be.  There really is no good criteria for determining a famous Scratcher.

If you want to put it in terms of was first viewed by over half the community, AromaRageST takes the cake.

Re: Who was the first famous Scratcher?

Archmage was huge back in 2007, and Shanesta's single project (Archery Champion) was probably Scratch's first real smash-hit.

Believe it or not, 2007-08 was a time when people actually used Scratch for its purpose: programming. Not 5 second "LOL RANDOM" videos and remix chains, like today.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Who was the first famous Scratcher?

Yeah, the Scratch Team tend to get their fame from being on the team. I would say Archmage was one of the really popular back then, Kuri got quite a few front pages back then as well.

Oh those were the days of awesome projects.

The first user was a testing user, with random letters. I don't remember what it was though (And anyways, it was deleted a month or two ago)

I'd say a ST member-Everyone knows them, really. And swifty2 and Astro974 aren't even close to being that-They got famous in 2010 (Well, at least swifty did). Archmage, 08jackt, Rhys, a ST member or someone like that would get it.
And I'm pretty sure TheExplodingCheese would be one of the most famous people on Scratch if he hadn't left.

Anyways, yeah, it depends not only on what you define as famous, but also as if you mean forumer, developer, etc. (Based on your first post, I'm guessing dev  tongue )
