Motion control is for anyone BUT gamers!  Although I own one, I must say the XBOX 360 is superior in hardware and service to actual gaming.  Better graphics, actual GAMER games, more responsive motion controls, that kind of thing.  The wii focuses on polish and gameplay, and while that IS important, if you wanted to be considered a gamer, you should have gotten an Xbox.  The Wii and Nintendo in general is now considered the casual console.  You look stupid playing it (trust me, personal experience), the graphics suck if you've actually experienced good ones, and there are very few games that are good outside of ones with Mario in them.

But good job otherwise.  She's not a gamer, but she must like some games.

Generally gamer should define anybody who plays videogames...

I have a PC with a quad core 3.4 ghz processor, a quad core 4 gig RAM, and a terabyte hard drive. Along with a GTX 260 Graphics Card. Both of your arguments are invalid.

Not very unexpected, most moms choose the Wii due to it mostly having family friendly games.
Be prepared to play with your mom A LOT.

Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart
Raving Rabbids Time Travel or whatever it's called
A fair amount of LoZ games
Super Paper Mario
Misc. Gamecube games
Some Sonic Games (at least one)
And SSBB

about 400$ should cover that 

I might get Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

Portal would be awesome on Wii

  Well my mom specifically said she wants to bowl and stuff on the Wii
I'm pretty much ready to own her at bowling
And swordplay because the Wii I'm getting comes with Wii Sports Resort

Don't get Super Paper Mario. It's a waste of money. The whole game feels like a chore. I'm glad I borrowed it and didn't buy it.

And buy SMG2, i liked it better than the 1st.

Alright, Just a heads up. NOA has stopped shipping new copies of MPT, so you're either gonna have to get a used copy or get über lucky and find a new copy in a store that hasn't been bought yet.
