A new kind a scratch!

One day, I thought that since we have chirp scratch(it converts .sb to .exe ) and the byob scratch(build your own block), all made by i think Jens, we could have something like Design Your Own Scratch! So it's basicly like scratch, only most of the buttons weren't there, you can have a button that says basic blocks, click on it and a dialog containing all the old scratch blocks appear and you choose where to put them or design your own blocks and what it will do in script or even make your own categories. Then you can build your own scratch! After that, try making a game with your own version of scratch!
Upload it, and other scratch users can download it to try it out.
If you agree, reply -so I know how many people likes my idea.

Re: A new kind a scratch!

I don't get it. Why not just "make your own blocks" with the blocks we already have?

Dear Scratch Users,
I'm done with scratch, or at least making projects. I have made one last big game, thats both fun and teaches a lesson about water. It'd mean a lot if you gave me feedback.                              http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/bosox397/569201

Re: A new kind a scratch!

Hi fg123,

that's a really cool idea, which - in fact - I'm already prototyping. What I'm after is a version of the Scratch Source Code which is built completely out of "snappabable blocks" and which overall looks and feels just like Scratch. It will essentially allow you to program the Scratch application "in itself" (sort of), down to the very VM, using just a handful of primitive blocks (I'm dubbing these "elements"). I've already gotten pretty far with this prototype (calling it "Crumbs") so stay tuned!

Nope, Jens didn't make scratch. All though he could if he wanted to...
