I scratch because it gives me something to do and I like to play games and well sometimes the perfect game for you just isnt out there, so, make it.

I enjoy making good games and I like the community part of it also. I will make a game once a month about, I just work on it occasionaly.

But that's not the main reason! I really enjoy the intellectual/creative excercise and the great community. And I still have dreams of making something "useful" in Scratch...

i am learning a more advanced programming language, but I have used scratch to give me a headstart in programming, without scratch, i would probably still be trying to figure out what x and y are!
I use scratch now because it's limited abilities can give me a good challenge (I know it was meant to be more more easy than powerful, so no offence meant), and because there is a way better community than the average community is.
