New Scratcher-Scratcher

Are you changed from New Scratcher to Scratcher automatically or manually? I am just interested, as some people seem to be changed sooner than others.

Is there anything else about Scratch or the forums that I should know (apart from normal rules like don't swear, spam etc)?
