I'm posting suggestions here, but feel free to add on.
THERE SHOULD BE MORE OPTIONS WHEN USING THE TEXT TOOL ON SCRATCH.
I think that we should be allowed to edit text better, by:
--Adding options for bold, italics, and underline.
--Allowing us to change font color for different words or letters, instead of having the whole thing one color.
--Adding options to align text. (Right, Left, Centered)

I ALSO THINK THAT 2 (OR MORE) USERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SENED MESSAGES AND/OR PROJECTS BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT ANYONE ELSE VEIWING THEM.
(unless you can already do that and I just don't know how)
This way, if someone needs help with a project, they can send it back and forth instead of posting it. When they do post it, the surprise is ruined, and people aren't as excited to use the project, because they've seen that technique before.

ANOTHER IDEA WOULD BE E-MAIL RESPONSE.
The user should be allowed to edit the settings, so that they can recieve notices about recent activity. Examples:
--new comment
--reply to comment
--post on a forum

Ooh...another one...
SCRATCHERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SUBSCRIBE TO OTHER SCRATCHERS. (like on youtube)
They could receive a notice by email, or just on Scratch, when the user uploaoded a new game.

Scratch will never have private messaging

You can subscribe to people by going to their mystuff page http://scratch.mit.edu/feeds/getRecentUserProjects/11664

Well, there could be people monitoring it or something. Because it spoils the surprise of a mew project if you have to post it for the public for just one other person to see.

That feature is currently available. When you go to somebody's home page, look for a link called Subscribe on the right-hand side up near the top of their projects. Clicking on that lets you set up an RSS feed which will alert you when they add new projects.

You need a browser that has RSS feed support. I recommend firefox.
