Re: Inauguration 2009

Well, My teachers made my class watch the WHOLE ENTIRE THING. So it was a little entertaining for the first hour, but on the second hour it got mega boring! And right now I'm going to go turn off the TV that's talking about the inauguration! AHHHHH!!!!

Re: Inauguration 2009

We had the option to watch it at our school.  I just came from band when it turned on and I was playing crash cymbals (I am a percussionist) So my Band teatcher gave me earplugs that reduced decible levels by 30 decibles. ok so i went into the lunch room to check it out and I could hear Barack loud and clear. Was he talking that loud?!?!?

Re: Inauguration 2009

Right after lunch I got to see it for 45 min. starting near the end of the black lady singing. Though Obama had a nice speech. One of my favorite quotes by him, "We will extend our hand, if you unclench your fist," and I think those were powerful words.

Re: Inauguration 2009

President Obama made a mistake in his speech. He said that 44 Americans have taken the inauguration oath, while only 43 have. He made a mistake in the oath as well, because apparently the Chief Justice said the wrong words.

Yeah I know that was kinda funny. but i guess when you are under that kind of pressure you are bound to make small mistakes like that.

Why must people nitpick? If he slips up on his numbers, it hardly means he's a terrorist.

Did I say he is a terrorist?

I'm simply stating that with a speech and event of that importance and significance, he should have been well prepared and accurate with every bit of information.

I know, but I'm sick of the people who keep saying that he does horrible things, is the "antichrist", etc. etc. etc.

Re: Inauguration 2009

I had the day off, so I just watched the oath and speech. I liked the fact that he said that it was going to be a challange, he told the truth. I also like how he already freezed the pay of Government aides making over 100,000.  I hope he does well. He also retook the oath later.  smile

Re: Inauguration 2009

I had to watch it in school, It was funny when Chief Justice Ron Roberts made a mistake in saying the Oath of Office. But Obama later on took the Oath again. Originally I did not ant him to win but since he won there is nothing I can do so I hope he will do the right things. Im only mad  about how the people who earn there money have to have higher taxes and give it away to SOME people who can get a job and are not maimed, but decide not to.

Re: Inauguration 2009

Had to watch (since someone bumped it up so conveniently as i decided to check in). Really hated it 'cause I wanted to have orchestra class. Fortunately, I had my MegaMinx and Republican friend right by to whisper how much we just want to play and how it is only 'cause he is half black we had to watch (that, or whenever a democratic president gets elected our tech ed teachers plans this out). Worse part was not the speech, but because my friend was mad about that day, my orchestra teacher unintentionally (maybe) called him a racist . . . he was mad 'cause of the circumstances, not who was talking
