Re: troll

A troll is someone who comes on and posts mean comments on threads and/or people's Scratch projects (at least for this site).

Urban Dictionary wrote:

Troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

Re: troll

Generally, a troll is someone who gets cheap laughs by getting as many people mad at them as they can. You often hear the phrase "Don't feed the troll", which means just report them and don't respond to their posts. By responding you're just giving them what they want.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: troll

a person wrote a really mean comment on my project, but i don't think that he/she has done that to anyone else, would that be a troll, if only a person commented once negatively on someones project? or do they have to do it multiple times to people?

Sounds like they might just be picking on you then.  Regardless, it shows that the person does not understand the Community Guidelines.  You might try politely responding to them and explaining that you didn't find the comment helpful - or, you can just flag the comment and let the Scratch Team handle it.
