When I was on vacation, I bought these Mexican Jumping beans for my friend. But as I write this they're jumping like crazy!
How do they do this: Well, there's a little mite inside the bean that's making a little cocoon, and it moves around a lot as it makes it, moving the bean. Then a moth comes out of the bean or something and the little instructional paper says to set them free...
...and now I'm paranoid that they'll hatch before the first day of school, when I'll give the beans to my friend. Since they're moving WAAAAAY more than usual, I'm creeped out. Like last night when I was just about to fall asleep, I heard this clicking noise coming from my bag. It was the beans moving around! So I took 'em and put them in my mom's office (They won't jump away, they're in a box) and fell asleep, and they're still moving like crazy!
Have you ever had jumping beans before?
