Ubuntu on Mac

Should I install ubuntu as a dual boot thing on my Mac?

It's just that I'm fed up with the GIMP mac version  hmm

YES but if you are NOT aware of how to do that nicely please use VirtualBOX to run a virtual computer on your's that garuntees that you wont mess up your current enviroment. ^_^ or another option use a Live CD based OS like PUPPY (126 mb OS which is full fledged ... really full fledged)

Done! I've given a 10gb partition to Ubuntu and I'm going to install Mint today as well  big_smile

ahh does GUI really matter ??

the basic core is Linux kernel which is the very base and its all the same , morever being everything open source you can simply install a GUI on another or a software can be compiled to run any other linux by some dependencies..
