Scratch's audio compression process butchers the sound quality horribly, I recommend you guys upload your parts to Soundcloud and allow downloads.

After we hear his recording, we'll figure out the beat to the song and play along, I guess.

PROTIP: Have each member use a metronome (you'll have to define the tempo of the song in BPM though, but if it's just ideas shouldn't be that necessary), or record drums first 

We' ll need a metronome then. (That's how I accompany myself when playing concertos [NOT a typo- concerto= piece for solo instrument and orchestra]- I record the second piano part first with the metronome and then play along with it) Judging from the mood of the lyrics, it's probably moderato-ish  ... BPM  108-120. Let's start at 116...

And about the guitar, how about something like bleed it out (linkin park song)
It just seems to fit
