MP3 Encoding in Scratch?

I'm wondering if it is possible to encode MP3 files with Scratch. I found a file in my Scratch installation called Mpeg3Plugin.dll. Can it be used to make blocks to play and record MP3 encoded files?

Re: MP3 Encoding in Scratch?

Technically, no. It can only read, mp3s like importing sounds, however, if you were to make the source code use the LAME Encoder, the technically, it can be done.

Re: MP3 Encoding in Scratch?

The two plugins that read/write are known as LAME Encoder and Mpeg3plugin, the plugin allows reading and, I think LAME allows reading.m I'd ask someone on adding blocks like that, I wouldn't know where to start.
