Forum topic/post like buttons

Right, hello everyone, I'm going to tell you about a suggestion I have thought up, and implemented, that I feel if it was official, then it would be used much more.

I present to you:

Forum topic/post Like Buttons!

This post will hopefully, in time show some of the most popular topics in the forums. For this to happen, when people make important topics/posts they should use my system for adding like buttons to there posts/topics. It currently shows topics that people have put like buttons on, which are few and far between.  I hope that in making this post, I spur more people on to use this feature.

Sidharth has been very kind, and made some code that will automatically generate the button code for you, have a look at it here

So check out the topic that explains it all here:
http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=70214

And remember, the more people use this feature, the more accurate the top liked list is, and the more scratchers we help to find useful infomation!

Above is a post I made on the all about scratch forums, not that long ago, that some of you may have seen. I have been incubating this in the advanced forums for quite some time now, and feel that it should be allowed out to flourish in the outside world.

My suggestion to you, the good people of the scratch forums to, come Scratch 2.0, fully implement my like buttons into the forums so that people don't have to go through all the fiddle that they currently do.

Like I said in the last paragraph of my previous post, if and when people start using this feature, be it now or in scratch 2.0, it will help everyone to find the right information they have been looking for, and possibly even leave stickies and itopics a redundant feature.

I hope you consider my suggestion,

Remember to 'like' this suggestion! http://scratchloveit.netne.net/topicrate.php?id=70816&ret=image

Rook.

Re: Forum topic/post like buttons

I guess that if the Scratch Team incorporated forum topic/post like buttons, then there would be a little thing on the side that would say +1 or something. Since we cannot really access the code for forums and edit them, making them was a remarkable thing  big_smile

Maybe post this in the suggestions part of this website so people could vote? I will definetely give 2 or 3  big_smile

Meh, we see how well that went with youtube.

I have to give you some merit though, as it is a thought. I guess I'll support.

Unlike youtube it doesn't feature a 'dislike' button only a 'like' button (and if you've liked it, you can unlike it, but that only removes your previous vote).

@sidharth because this account is new, I'm not allowed to add suggestions to the suggestion forum yet  hmm  which is a shame, but oh well.

Re: Forum topic/post like buttons

When I saw the title, I got excited. I thought you were going to saw we would have a system( like a page or something) with topics that are popular or new scratchers that haven't been helped. This would be a little too complicated.

It wouldn't be as complicated, because if it were implemented, it would automatically generate these for each topic.
