(Vote in Scratch Suggestions!)
As you people might know, there has been an increase in Minecraft and Portal (mainly MC though) threads in the Miscellaneous section, which has caused some people to complain about them clogging up the forums.
Minecraft is a massively played online game, which is played through servers - and it's mainly server topics that have been slightly clogging Miscellaneous. It'd be pretty hard to keep all servers in one topic, which is why I suggest that a "Gaming" section is created, for everything about Minecraft, Portal or any other game.
Once the "Gaming" section is created, simply move any topic about any game here, including topics about game consoles.

I don't think there's quite a large enough volume of topics pertaining to gaming to constitute an entirely new forum just for them. At any rate, I don't think we need to encourage even more non-Scratch related discussion by creating a second non-Scratch forum.

If you count, right now there's 10 topics involving gaming of any kind in the first page of Miscellaneous, out of 26 topics without counting the stickies. I see your point about the non-Scratch related discussion, but Miscellaneous is a pretty big mess now yet again, and I'd be not surprised if the same that happened to TBGs (which then split yet again), and the splitting of Inspiration and More happened again in this case.
If it's just a fad, then we'll have to wait a good while until it dies, Minecraft will be officially released later this year and until then and after that date, it'll be updated constantly, causing people to keep discussing it. And I made it pretty clear that Portal 2 and Minecraft aren't the only games discussed in Misc, part of those 10 topics are about something else.

I think that Miscellaneous should be removed.

Well, back when I proposed subdividing "Inspiration and More", my suggestion did have more subdivisions, and "non-Scratch Game Talk" was one of those sections. The thing is that we didn't want to subdivide it too much such that forum navigation page would be long (hence why all non-Scratch topics are collapsed into "Miscellaneous").
I guess we could run it back by the Scratch Team again if they want to make another section, but let's keep in mind that, like all fads, they will fade away at some point - it just takes time.

Unfortunately, game threads aren't a 'fad'. They've always been in miscellanious, and always been there. I can think of so many game threads that... Well, just say I get migraines... Maybe if we could make miscellanious a new forum like the TBG's?

I'm a bit conflicted on this proposal. It's certainly true that threads about non-Scratch gaming do currently constitute a large fraction of the topics in Miscellaneous. But I'm really not keen on the idea of expanding the number of forums further - there's a confusing number of them as it is and adding yet another one just makes the situation worse. To further confuse things, it would have to be made clear that it was for the discussion of non-Scratch games so it would need a name something like cheddargirl proposed "non-Scratch Game Talk" - which might be confused with the Text-Based Games forum.
Lastly, I guess I'm just not all that excited about expanding our services for non-Scratch related activities. This is a Scratch website and I feel that we should be dedicating our resources to supporting Scratch. We need a Miscellaneous forum for topics that don't fit in other categories - but I don't feel that we need multiple Miscellaneous forums. There are a ton of other sites out there that are dedicated specifically to gaming - maybe we should look into moving all the gaming threads off-site to one of those.

There is a way to export topics I think, so you could probably export them onto some approved other website. However, I don't like this idea, because the scratch community will
A) Just keep on creating more = more moderating problems
B) A lot of the scratch community would be increasingly sad.
C) Its the reason a few people keep on scratching.
