I'm having serious problems loading updated code - in IE8 it keeps finding a very early version when I switch to flash.  I know its a local browser problem because the new code loaded OK on another machine... how do you fully flush the Flash cache?

Did you use a different browser on the other machine? Don't use IE. It's rubbish. And it takes ages to catch up with the new tech. It's one of the only browsers that don't currently support HTML5. Use google chrome. That should work.

Google Chrome gives me the early version, But Firefox doesn't. Use Firefox.

The pieces do not align correctly on the grid, making the project inoperable.  hmm

Text in sprites is bigger than offline. This is a bug in the java player too.

This is a temporary signature. It will exist until I think of something witty.

Re: Beta Flash player

You guys are lucky, I can't even play A Project In Flash Beta Player. I have been having this problem for a few weeks. It started a little while after I started using experimental viewer. Every time I switch to Flash Beta Player, the project just shows up as a picture. The frozen picture dosen't even show the green flag and red stop sign. When I put my cursor over the frozen picture, it says you need 'adobe flash player to view this'. I have repeatedly downloaded the most updated version of Adobe Flash Player that is supposed to work on IE 9, but your Flash Beta Player still doesn't work. My explanation is Flash Beta Player can't play in IE 9. Thank you for your time and patience. ~ ads98

Re: Beta Flash player

I've found that on some projects (mostly the bigger ones) can go slower and sometimes not work at all but on the smaller project it works great  big_smile .

Re: Beta Flash player

the graphics are far clearer than the old java player and this is great most of the time. But some sprites have are left with those almost whit borders after you take out the white background and the old java player would blur this out
eg. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SKAZZA09/1938705

it stuffs up sometimes when a sprite will be put in the wrong place
eg. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SKAZZA09/1978983

Re: Beta Flash player

I like the new falsh player as on the javav player msometimes you have to download projects to make them work! One problem is the fatc that it take a lot longer to load! I wud like an option on the new player  for full screen mode like ther is on scratch so that you can see things bigger! also the garphica re better on flash!

Re: Beta Flash player

Some of my projects, for example, this http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/zippynk/1977672 don't work in flash. They load some amount of time and then just turn blank white. Java, on the other hand, sometimes randomly says "Error. Click here for details.", along with a red exclamation mark. I have Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and I'm using Safari 5.1 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard (10.6.8).

Never switch to windows......its the worst thing possible.....

but firefox is worth a try, just remember, adobe flash is weirdly capable of causing computers to crash

Re: Beta Flash player

Love the new flash player support.  Java is simply not good client based technology while flash is optimized for the client.
