Jewel RPG 2 - What's new?

[Hope the Long text doesn't daunt you, but it's worth the read]

Lol, Some of you ofcourse know about my game Jewel RPG 2 nearing the stages of final release, and I would like to talk about the New Systems of Jewel RPG 2 and other features.

- [ Better Graphics ] -

In Jewel RPG 2, there are no stick figures for you run around with. Jewel RPG 2 are using sprites customised by me (Template made by a program). The scenery is also more graphical then Jewel RPG 1 and the weapons are more appealing.

- [ New Stats System ] -

You can now have stats for you Character to customise and strengthen your character.

These stats are:

- Strength[STR] : Every Stat point increases Physical Damage output by 1 per point
- Dexerity[DEX] : Every Stat point increases your Evasion by .3% per point
- Endurance[END] : Every Stat point increases your Physical Defence, and your Hit-Points by 10 HP and 1 Pdef per point
- Intelligence[INT] : Every Stat point increases Magical Damage output by 1 per point
- Spirit[SPR] : Every Stat point increases your Magical Defence, Mana points and Critical rate by 1 Mdef, .2% crit and 10 MP

Every Level you get to spend 5 points on top of your points.

- [ New Battle System ] -

This system is better then the boring old hit hit hit. Jewel RPG 2 contains skills to give a punch to the monster and buffs to increase your abilities. We will talk about these skills later.
Also our system also contains Evasion and Critical.
If you succeed in evading the monster, you take no damage.
If you succeed in critically hurting the monster, your damage output is doubled!

- [ Money System ] -

You can now shop till you drop (lol)
With the new money system you now have to be cautious when buying new weapons, if you will be able to afford the next skill upgrade or more potions.
Money can be earned by quests and/or by killing monsters. And large sums of money by killing a Boss.

- [ New Potions System ] -

Yay! you can now recover your health and mana to the max in one button!
You can buy mana and health potions on the Potions NPC in Roumen.

- [ New Skill System ] -

With the new skills system, this will be draining your MP like there is no tomorrow.
Skills use MP, but at a great outcome.
There are 3 skills on offer per class.
1st one is used only by Type1 Weapons (Sword+Shield, Bow, Staff)
2nd one is used only by Type2 Weapons (Axe, Crossbow, Wand)
these 2 skills multiply your normal damage output noticeably.
3rd one is a Buff, that can increase your performance passively for a short period of time.
Each of these skills can be upgraded up to 10 times at the Skill NPC at a cost.

Thats all of the new stuff I can reveal to you now. Let's move onto some tips and guides for future use:

- [ Character Overview ] -

In Jewel RPG 1 you have a choice of 3 characters...
The Fighter, Archer and Mage.

- The Fighter -

Thanks to their strength, fearlessness and superb combat skills, fighters are always ready to take on any enemy. The powerhouse and mainstay of the game, fighters battle foes at close range. With the slash of a sword, or the swing of an axe, all you will hear is the death cry of enemies.

Fighters can equip a sword and shield or axe.  Main Stat points are Strength (for damage) and Endurance (for more hit points and defense). To increase your MP (mana points), ability to use more skills and chance for critical hits, try adding some points to spirit.

1. Strengths
    - Good melee damage
    - High hit points
    - Highest physical defense
2. Weaknesses
    - No Ranged damage
    - Low spirit points
    - Lowest magical defense

- The Archer -

The Archerfights monsters with powerful skills and summons the forces of nature to protect them. They are a tactical part of the game, with dangerous long ranged attacks and strategic combat. Once their sights are set on an enemy, resistance is futile. Archers are the highest skill damage output of any class in the game.

The Archer can equip a bow or crossbow.  Main attributes are Strength (more damage) and Spirit. This will increase your change for critical hits and add more spirit points.

1. Strengths
    - Highest skill damage dealer
    - Great against bosses
2. Weaknesses
   - Low Defence
   - Low Normal Attack

- The Mage -

The Mage is one with the magical energies of the game, channeling arcane power and commanding it to do his bidding. The Mage may be frail and weak in body, but that is a worthy sacrifice for the strength of the mind. The Mage is the heavy hitter of the game, casting powerful damaging ranged spells at targets. Enemies flee from the sounds of their fearsome incantations.

The Mage can equip a staff or a wand. Main attributes are Intelligence (magical damage) and spirit. This will increase your change for critical hits and add more spirit points. It is possible to put more points in Endurance if you would like more hit points. This will allow you to survive a little longer.

1. Strengths
    - Excellent at burst damage output
    - High magical defense
    - high mana points
2. Weaknesses
    - Low hit points
    - Low Physical defence

Okay... let me start it then.

I would likely to play the Archer with a crossbow. This would bring me high damage output but low critical rate and slower attack, and the corssbows make the damage more better on the skills. But this can be changes if I do the build, 2 SPR and 2 Str and 1 Dex. imagine with the archersd already high dexerity, large damage and higher critical rate?

this looks great! u have really put alot of effort into this! i just cant wait!

I would make... a fighter with a sword and shield and my stats would be... STR 2 END 2 and SPR 1 so i can focus on my strengths of the fighter more and a little on our weaknesses  smile

I would play a...mage.
I always use magic users in RPGs unless  its  too much trouble.
I love their high damage:)

Yeah with this build you get more SP then the other builds and crit so you can spam your skills more.

but if you want to get good damage with archers prepare to have your mana points be flushed XD

Using an MP Pot to restore MP, and adding SPR to your stats to max the max of MP

It's always best to play a mage, period. They are always the best in any game why fight with lame weapons when you could have magic?

I noticed in many RPG's in my game, that mage is always good at the start but turn * at the end, but you can make them orsum if you put alot of money, and in Free MMO's, alot of real life money, it makes them "pwn" such in games as Fiesta  tongue P but maple story's mages are okay I guess. But I lol'ed when the 4th job came ot and the bow master was the best class, Yay for rangers =]]

For me I like any class, I always start a game out as a mage, or anything magical if they dont have a mage, since they;re good at the beginning always...
then I usually move on to a DD Fighter, then a ranger... I used to like playing support classes first, but I got sick of that after stupid Zu Online >_>
