Anyone here on Scratch make/fly model rockets?
For the people who have no idea what I mean, the kind of model rockets I am talking are little cardboard/plastic rockets that use black powder motors and fly about 200-2000 feet. And if you are certified to, you can make huge ones that fly miles up!
(I am not certified, tho.)
If you do fly them, post pictures of them, and your stories about them.
I will post some as soon as I find/make pictures of them.

I have the Estes Amazon. It's epic with a C engine.
I have never flown that one, but it looks pretty cool. It must fly really high on a C motor, because Cs have made rockets of mine 3x the size of the Amazon go 1000 feet up, and even self-destruct (Often the latter. :_( ).

LOL, yeah, I started with a B, and was really dissapointed, but the C easily doubled that. I also have the crossfire, but I haven't built that. It's small, and made of lightweight balsa wood, and takes C engines >:D

The Amazon must be heavy for it's size, because in my experience, rockets that size go about 400 feet up on a B.
@bbbeb: xD
Pictures of one of my rockets coming in a minute!

I'll start showing off my homemade rockets with the biggest one (also the first to be photographed today).
It is called the Longshot. As you can tell from the the ruler right next to it, it is over 3 feet long! Despite being huge, it flew best on B motors, going about 300 feet up. When we tried a C motor, this happened:
The rocket was going so fast when the parachute was ejected, the parachute was pushed down by the rushing air, and the cord ripped through the top tube!
It has been retired, and put on this wall with its friends:
Tell me which of these rockets you want to hear about next.

I've made some botle rockets and even a real mini rocket too at camp

I think why the amazon runs poorly on Bs is because it takes a bit to launch, but then it soars.

It sounds like the Amazon is pretty heavy, but you are using a B motor with a long burn time. Do you know what kind of B you use? (eg. B6-4)

bump, and new rocket time!
The Liberty Flyer:
It was an experiment to see how many rockets we could strap on to a rocket. We decided 3 would be a good number to try, and so the Liberty Flyer was created.
It looks awesome, but when we launched it, all heck broke loose, with a sudden nose dive, motor tubes coming off and flying at us (O_O), and finishing with a broken nose and body tube (was fixed up). Since that first (and last) launch, it has been on the wall of rockets.
Which rocket is next?
