Yes, I said I was taking a brief exit from scratch, but I'm gonna go ahead and post this anyway. I'm still not working on any projects, so just be quiet and look at the words below.
Civilization is one of my fav PC games ever. Very awesome series. I have Civ 3, Civ 4 (including all civ 4 expansion packs), and I'm hoping to get civ 5 soon.
So, discuss civ:
Favorite civilization?
Favorite leader?
Favorite unit?
Favorite scenario?
(I like the celts or the americans
I like GW B) or Brennus or Montezuma
I like them knights
I like the 1200 AD scenario)

My strategy is easy. Invest in economy, get your gold supply up, and build a few warrior units(to protect my town). The warrior units are enough, because by the time they become redundant, I'll be powerful enough to spawn an army in a millisecond. Anyway, keep golding away, but invest heavily in tech. Found a couple more cities. Invest heavily in tech. Did I mention to invest heavily in tech? Once I've reached the highest tech level, I just repeatedly spawn incredibly powerful units and take over the other countries one at a time. I ignore world wonders altogether.

In Ryse's and fall (the ad 1200 scenario) I play English.
I build buildings only unless I need to build units... I invest in tech heavily and In the end when all buildings are built I build corporation executives till all my cities have the corp. (mainly mining corp.) Then when I can build most all units in 1 turn. I pump out wealth and tech. If any new buildings come I build them in 1 turn all my cities (losing $10,000 out my huge amount of capital) then wealth again.
Civ.: English
Leader: Victoria
Unit: gun ship
Scenario: Ryse's and fall.

Favorite civilization? Germans
Favorite leader? Bismark: He looks cool.
Favorite unit? Depends on the time...
Favorite scenario? I create my own scenarios, but of the pre-made ones, I would have to say Earth.

I have 4 and 5 but lost 4. :C It was better in my opinion as well. My strategy is generally get about 20 cities and lots of tech then attack other civs. For attacking I usually surround a city with good infantry and stuff and then declare war and just go in for the kill. At about 1800 I start preparing for the space ship to Alpha Centuri. researching the right things and by about 1900 I begin it.
What difficulty do you people play on?

I have III (Fun, but not that good) IV (The best, V removes half the features add adds better graphics >_<) with Warlords and BtS. Warlords adds more war units and like 20 leaders, BtS adds corporations (like religions, but they give you $$, they can be spread) esponage points, great spies, random events, like 20 leaders, and like the 10 best scenarios you'll ever play.
Out of my extended collection of leaders (half of them are useless...) I usually play as Bismark of the Germans. (Internet high five, agscratcher)
My favorite scenario is Final Fronteer (Entirely different game, you colonize space systems and do ship to ship combat in space) or Next War Epic (Has mechas, clones, cyborgs, huge tanks...
)

I have 4 and 5, which aren't working for some reason.
I don't have a favorite leader.

Coolio.
I like playing the medieval scenarios, rhyse and fall is fun but sort of different, and I really love how they add quests in BtS.
I tend to use leaders that have the spiritual feature, and then one with either aggresive, protective, expansive, or creative.

That's cool.
I normally build a few cities, strengthen military, then when I get caravels I begin to explore the world, etc.
I like to play on settler, chieftain, warlord, or noble.
Normally settler is way too easy (which is fun
) and noble is too hard, so I like to use warlord or chieftain difficulties.

I've played IV before, and I have to say, I don't really like it that much compared to III and Alpha Centauri.

I like IV because of the enhanced gameplay, it's graphics, the fact that it has lots of leaders and units, and it's got good scenarios. Alpha centauri looks like a great game, but if I were to get a sid meier game other than the civ franchise, I'd probably go for pirates.
