Re: images on scratch

All my images come in with the white box around them too.  The thing to do is to open the Paint Editor and use the Fill tool to fill the white area with the Transparent fill color (which shows as a little checkerboard pattern.  This cleans them up nicely.

This question/response probably should be added to the FAQ as it asked by a lot of people.

You can export the sprite and save it in an easy place where you will be able to find it.

Under your user name, there is a "change picture" that you can use.
Browse through your folders and use the picture you want.

Re: images on scratch

Lord_Nox_Noctis: Please refer to Paddle2See's detailed answer to this question in the second entry of this thread. In short: Edit the image in Scratch's Paint Editor, select the fill tool with transparent color, repaint the unwanted white areas with it, and save it.

Re: images on scratch

Is there a way to copy a sprite as a costume in another sprite? Also is it possible to copy sprites from one project and paste them into another project? something similar to how it is done in say Microsoft word?

Thanks for your answers

Re: images on scratch

On Windows you can drag images from a web browser directly into Scratch.

On a Mac it works in Safari (though not from Firefox).

If you find an image you want on scratch, open the scratch project you want the image to be in,then drag the image into the scratch browser program thing.

Re: images on scratch

Look for GIF animations on Google Images and other sites.  Then save it as a picture and it should work.   smile

Re: images on scratch

Hello,
I want to publish a short article explaining an aspect of Scratch and I need to include images of scripts. When I export from within Scratch, the quality is so low (e.g. 73x42pixels) that the publisher is refusing to accept them. How can I get high-quality images. It must be possible because the Scratch team published a recent article "Scratch: Programming for All" which has such images.
Thanks
Moti

Re: images on scratch

The 'export picture of scripts' button works fine for me - you get to it by right-clicking the scripts area.

What I do is Control-Alt-PrintScreen, paste the image into an art program, remove the scripts area, select the script, copy it and paste it fresh, and save. It's a bit of a hassle though...
