PHP Database Array- Please share your thought

As a part of a larger experimental project, I have updated my signature and have slightly improved my IP teller.

I would like to know what it tells you (don't share your IP, I just need to know generically what it says) and also what color it shows up as for you.

Let's hope I get some good results!

It now shows my name in red? How did you get my IP? Pretty cool though!

Pretty cool indeed  wink  I'm using the Mod Share database, and you're just a lucky exception. Happened to be the only person in the UK in my list  tongue

Ah, I see! That's neat, what are you plans for it? Or possible uses?

I think we already discussed this on another thread  wink
This example is just a more sophisticated trial. With a good database of IP/User, and the knowledge of where that request is coming from, I can easily localize messages and personalize them. By far the best security system that exists in the Scratch forums, if you wish  tongue

What about dynamic IP or someone moving house/server either temporarily or permenantly? I don't see how this is a security system...  tongue

Oh, I meant displaying certain text to a single IP address (say a collaborator) on the spot, but not to the rest of the community. Pretty pointless I'd say, but possible. And anyway that wasn't the main scope of this project. It's actually to localize and personalize signatures.

Re: PHP Database Array- Please share your thought

By the way sparks, I know you have firefox and safari (which I don't).
Could I ask you a small favour? Open both browsers and visit mod share. Could you hover over the logo (topleft) and the sidebar buttons, and describe exactly what happens?

How do I test this?

BTW, I need Firedust OS registered again.

Just tell me what the image in the first post says. Unless it's your IP, then no need to specify.

Sure! Just send me an email.

Re: PHP Database Array- Please share your thought

Firefox: the mod share logo and words Mod share become brighter and more solid when I mouse-over. The words mod share are underlined when I hover over them, but not if I hover over the logo. the sidebar buttons simply get brighter on mouseover.

Safari: the mod share logo and words Mod share fade up in brightness when I mouse over and fade back down when on mouseoff. The words mod share are underlined when I hover over them but not if I hover over the logo. The sidebar buttons will fade into brightness when moused over and fade out when the mouse is removed, though only one at a time.

Great, thanks! Firefox and IE don't exactly work like I would like them to, but at least they don't completely mess up. I love CSS3  big_smile

Re: PHP Database Array- Please share your thought

I'm a peaceable person, I don't get angry at all really, but there's something about IE that makes me want to commit.. the perfect murder. Any website I build will look perfect in Firefox, chrome, safaria and opera and then completely fail to work in IE! It makes me want to cry!

Yup! That's why, as a developer, I only have two browsers. Chrome, to test what it looks like in normal, decent, browsers, and IE. If it works in IE, it's bound to work in any other browser!  tongue

As a web developer you ought to have all of them like me  tongue  I've seen Opera and safari incorrectly show divs that Firefox, Chrome and even IE managed!

Well, for special stuff, I do try to test my code. For example that CSS3 webkit animation for Mod Share. But I generally keep my sites simple, with no big graphics and layouts, so all browsers often manage it perfectly.
