Age of Empires

Does anyone else play Age of Empires?

My favorite game was Age of Empires 2 The Conquerors Expansion

My friend plays it a lot, but I don't. I'm really not very good at RTS games and I don't have the patience to get better.  hmm

I have Shogun 2, so I don't really have an excuse though. Maybe I should go play that. Do you know if it's any good?

It's the reason I'm on my Mom's computer.

My brother got it for his birthday.
He installed it, but it made his comp go phyco.
So right now he's being a jerk wad and using my computer while I use my mom's slow one.  hmm

I don't have Shogun 2, but I have Napolen Total War, it doesn't work on my computer though. (The colors don't work)  sad

I used to have AoE 3 on my computer, but I lost it. I have AoE: Age of Kings for DS.

Age of Empires is a 3rd-Person RTS Game (Real-Time Strategy)

First, you build up a strong economy with people called villagers. There are 4 resources. Food, Wood, Gold, Stone.

Food is mostly used for people and upgrades.
Wood is used for most buildings.
Gold is used for miltary units.
Stone is used for defensive structures.

All resources can be used for upgrades.


Next is the military.

There are MANY different units you can train from the following buildings.

Dock
Barracks
Archery Range
Stable
Siege Workshop
Castle

There are also many different nations and each one of them have there own unique unit(s) and technologies.


Tactics

You can use tactics and formations to destroy your enemy
There are 4 built-in formations, I forgot there names though.  sad

There are 4 different ages in the game

Dark Age
Feudal Age
Castle Age
Imperial Age

There can be up to 8 players and you can play online too.

There are 5 difficulties

Easy
Standard
Moderate
Hard - I normally play at this level.
Hardest


There are also 4 different campaigns that take hours and hours to finish.

I love Age Of Empires. I have AOE 1 Gold Edition, AOE 2: The Age of Kings, AOE 2: The Conquerers Expansion, AOE 3 and AOE: The Age of Kings for DS. The like AOE 2 the most. I generally use the Teutons for their Tutonic Knights and Paladins, although I occasionally use the Vikings, and have been meaning to try out the Huns again for a while.
