If everyone died over and over, it wouldnt be fun.

You should like, make echs destroy respawning somehow so once you die, your gone.
And it could go on and on, with the adventurers fighting echs and his minions until only a handful of people survive and then they somehow destroy echs.

Hey, it's my story, trust me, the end will be cool 

They were ideas, though. I don't mind what you do, I just think that it would make the story better.
