I have noticed a lot of people complaining because they are not famous. These are over populating the forums and I’ve had enough. These people obviously don’t understand the system, it’s issues, and the logical solution as to why they CAN’T be famous. So if you didn’t know, I’m posting it here, in plain English.
The problem with the system is that when someone happens to get on the front page, it is because a good amount of people viewed/loved/remixed the same project at around the same time. Because it is on the front page, people view/love/remix the project even more. Then the user creates another project. Because so many people are on this person’s user, they notice. Then THAT project gets on the front page. This just keeps on repeating until people stop looking at the project.
The real question here for the people I aim this topic to, is “How do you expect yourself to get magically famous?” If people don’t view your projects, you can’t get on the front page. Then people say, “Why don’t people view my projects??” Well, think. How are people supposed to get to your projects? If you don’t post in show and tell, and don’t post on the forums, and don’t tag your projects, then why are you even expecting people to get to you?
I hope this helps, and I can only hope that you will stop complaining that you aren’t famous. Being honest, it’s not all that great. I was famous for about a week. All people posted was spam, and when people did post good things it was just stuff like, “nice” or “good progect dude” or “cool”. I personally prefer my “level” of fame right now. Two to five messages a week works for me. I don’t really care as long as people have fun with my projects.

I really don't like the "What the community is ____ing" sections, because it's basically just taking the rich and making them richer, you know? I completely agree with you

What we all need is a button we could push that instantly makes us famous. Then we could draw all of our fans to our little home-made website and make that famous. Then we could put Google adds on our little famous website and make enough money to stop working at Walmart or if you are older you could supliment your retirement.

I agree
It used to be, that an ambitious Scratcher could, if he tried hard, get on top viewed just by persistently bumping a Topic (without doing it too often) and notifying the Makers of similar Projects. That is because back then the Number of Views needed for top viewed would occasionally drop to below 90.
Now, however, the required View Count for top viewed seems to be stuck at around 200, which is almost impossible for an unknown Scratcher to reach
Which explains why there are few active Scratchers with between 5 and 15 Frontpagings. (Famous ones all get too many, and other ones...)

So it's bad for the rich to get richer? I don't see the logic in this.
IMO, it really isn't that hard to get on the top loved section. Just make a good project, advertise it in your sig and the Show and Tell, and you have it made. I'm not famous, but my last five games I created all made the front page because I worked on them so long (usually a month or two).

Bravo Henley, I agree with you completely. And I don't understand why people want to be so famous-It's just getting 100 messages a day, and getting many views on your projects. Being famous on Scratch probably won't affect their futures, so I really don't understand it. I get around 2 messages a day, and I'm happy. I get to reply to each one of them, and it doesn't take too long. I get 20-40 views per project (Even though I only have 4 xD), which is perfectly fine. I wouldn't be able to handle Scratch if I was famous, and I'd probably never program on this website again. And also, if you aren't famous, a Love-It means something. If you are famous, a love-it means nothing, as you'll obviously get more. Well, unless you're infamous xD

ive seen some really good projects on scratch but they don't have many views, maybe if a unknown project has been out for two weeks or more and has less than 20 views but has a view to love it ratio of 0.25 or more, they should get front paged but the more famous you are, the more likely you are to be cyber bullied because people will get jealous of you and a unknown project is not always a pointless one

I made a topic about how to become famous without the need of spam. I hope this will help you in future referance for the users who are complaining about not being famous.

It's an expression. In this case Money = views/loves. So basically what i'm trying to say is, why give the rich more money if we can give that money to those who have none?
No it's not a bad thing to give them more, but If we replaced those sections with more of a curator or feature-like slot, then those people who would have been top viewed still get around 300 views, AND an unknown person who normally gets 0-25 views could get more than 100 views.

Yeah I totally agree that there are too many people complaining.
Whats the big deal about being well known anyway it's not like your becoming famous in real life.
