Re: Collab project: Butterfly Tree

I have posted the link to Butterfly Tree on the Collab Camp submission gallery since the deadline is only two days away. It's OK if we come up with a newer version in the next few days, I just wanted to get something submitted.

No problem! Could you work on the animation for when Leo arrives at the Butterfly Tree? You can leave the words out for now, it would be nice to just have screen movement.

Re: Collab project: Butterfly Tree

I was looking at everyone else's projects.. they are just using the template, so we are a sure winner! smile  Ours is coming along very nicely.. think we can have it finished by the 30th?

I've been seeing some amazing projects out there though... as my robotics team coach says, you can only do the best that you can do. Everything else is out of your control.

If we keep going at the rate we've been going in the past 2-3 days, we should be able to make the deadline. If worst comes to worst, we'll cut a few things from the plot. Lets try to make sure that it doesn't come down to that!  wink

Pshhh.. your coach is nicer than my soccer coach.. his line is "shoot, score, and don't be a loser.":p

My other team coach said "You never know if you will make the goal until you take the shot."

I think we can make it.. excuse my digression:)

Re: Collab project: Butterfly Tree

Hey guys, sorry about this, but I'm rewriting the movement scripts. My idea means that the right sensor can be done without, and that he will not bounce when he hits the trees. It also means that if he's going at a diagonal, and hits a tree only on one side, he can keep moving the other direction. It also means that all the movement scripts, regardless of direction, will use the same collision detection factors.

Re: Collab project: Butterfly Tree

Actually, I just found out that it will work better if it only has the left sensor. So the list "BumpSensorData" will be replaced with a variable.

Are you serious... We keep redoing what we already have, and we need to work on something else! And this single bump sensor variable seems kind of pointless, and likely to cause more lag.  While you are at it, can you flip the y position mechanics, so that changing scrolly + will make it scroll up, and - down?

There's not much animation to do with no words. xP Sorry this is taking so long, we went hiking today.  tongue  Could I try to do the words? Or is that someone elses job?
Edit: I'm just going to do it...if I do it wrong, I can always redo it. xD
