If you want to know how to jump use this script: <when[ whatever button you want]key pressed><change y by( 10 <wait( .5)secsc><change y by( -10 there you go hope that helps XD

For your first game, this really isn't bad, it's just getting a feel for movement, and it's pretty good! It's gonna be cool seeing what projects you could make in a couple o months. big_smile

awesome! first off can you tell me how to truly jump and how to go left without the smiley being flipped?

Easy.

Your flipping problem:

Go to the sprite where you move in Scratch. You see where the name of the sprite (ex. Sprite 1)? There are 3 buttons, one shows an arrow like an almost complete circle, one which is a left arrow a short segment to a right arrow and a tiny square. Click the right to left arrow one. Then say for the moving script before the move blocks point in direction 90 and for the left arrow key one point in -90.

Jumping: What is your jumping problem?

it is because you accidentally put "change x" instead of "change y". Don't get your x's and y's confused!
