Re: Beta Flash player

With the Flash player my project don't work well. There are errors which do not occur with Java, Errors in the display.

Re: Beta Flash player

I see no improvements so far within my own projects (apart from the fullscreen mode), but for a beta I guess it's okay.

Re: Beta Flash player

half hate it half love it. hate it because with the lists, if it is a big item, it's kind of hard to read. love it because it is fast, and when the program asked people something, and it is supposed to add it too a list, it adds it. the normal flash player doesn't do that.
i'll give it a 3.5/5 stars.

Re: Beta Flash player

it's very good!
it's faster than Java player and scratch Application, but there are no sound...
Full screen is working on my Mac with Firefox.

Re: Beta Flash player

i don't know why this is running so slowly even when only rendering what 100 points where as others render thousands instantly. also with java do you run the scratch directly to java and then to the virtual machine or do you go thorough squek and loads of other programs and with flash you just render directly to flash and that is lower level programming language then squek or whatever you run to from the scratch project?
sorry the edit needs to be in report bugs  tongue

Re: Beta Flash player

Try my project Revolving Point Art in Flash. It's really fast! Try it offline. It's very slow. Neat!

Highlight the box.

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.

Re: Beta Flash player

The players both have their pros and cons

Java
Runs with less glitches but slower
Sometimes doesn't load at all

Flash
Runs faster but some features don't work
Runs in turbo

But I like Flash better

Re: Beta Flash player

The flash player works faster than java thsan most projects on scratch. I don't view projects on full sceen because you can see to many pixels. I can't say there aren't any bugs on full sceen but, I can say there are aren't any bugs in the small screen. Even though the flash player is faster than the java it is still a good idea to keep the java because some older computers don't have flash.

Re: Beta Flash player

I'm having serious problems loading updated code - in IE8 it keeps finding a very early version when I switch to flash.  I know its a local browser problem because the new code loaded OK on another machine... how do you fully flush the Flash cache?

Did you use a different browser on the other machine? Don't use IE. It's rubbish. And it takes ages to catch up with the new tech. It's one of the only browsers that don't currently support HTML5. Use google chrome. That should work.

Re: Beta Flash player

2 of my projects, http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/OrcaCat/1977662 and http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/OrcaCat/1978562 , when I uploaded them, there were glitches I needed to fix. When I replaced them, in the Java player it worked, but in the Flash player it kept the original, which is too bad, because it is a lot faster in the Flash player.

I use Google Chrome and Firefox, and the update works on Firefox, but not Google Chrome.
