I'm trying to find something to do when I'm home alone (heh heh... lol jk) like a hack or cool project. I've found nothing on Google. (it mostly involves turning lasers into better lasers which i don't have the money for)

Is there anything you've done that's taken up most of your spare time, but came out pretty cool in the end?

I once made a hollow book iPad case, but it didn't fit and wouldn't close with the iPad inside. I have no use for it now, but it was still a pretty fun project.

Hmm, lasers... well if you're thinking along the lines of building/manipulating/engineering something, maybe you can look up D-I-Y engineering projects? If you want a good project challenge, you can try building your own Stirling Engine out of materials like soda cans, tin cans, and wire. smile

Or take your wii apart, put a wiikey in, and then put it all back together so you can play foreign wii games. big_smile

ive done that! homebrew is better though. But yeah i might hack the xbox next...

I guarantee you will never regret the day.

You can pretty much hack anything if you learn VB and C++... I even hacked my PS3... and Wii without homebrew... and my TV. yikes

If your project is related to REAL WORLD MODELS

1. Make a sterling engine .. there are gazillion tutorials on how to make 1 at home with soda cans!! (or you can buy the kit which will make u a sterling engine that runs from the heat of your hand).. (TRUST ME THIS IS EASY AND GET YOU A++++++ )

2. Or you can make Magnetic Levitation with coils with DC Voltage , you might want to try using Lenz law so that u generate AC voltage based Levitation

IF you want to program

1. Write a node.js & socket.io based socket server that is event based using javascript...

I hacked my PS3 with VB.
And the Wii.
But the TV took thousands of lines of C++ code.
And I proceeded to delete it right after.

Instructables is your best friend. It has all sorts of user-submitted projects, ranging from outdoors to duct tape to homebrew computers. I often use the site. I recommend that you make a free account, so that you can ask questions, but even more importantly they won't let you see all of the pictures without it. mad

Lol, I made a bristlebot with an old computer processor, a 9 volt battery, and a normal motor with a fishing weight attached to the end, and it worked great, but can scratch wood and stuff.
