Moderators/Scratch Team

What's the difference between them? Also, do all moderators/scratch team people have asterisks after their name? i noticed cheddargirl* and Lightnin*.

Re: Moderators/Scratch Team

moderators have a circle and the Scratch Team has an aterisk(Yes, cheddargirl is now a member of the scratch team). Mods can only edit the forums while the scratch team can edit the main site and the forums.

Scratch Team actually made Scratch, and they moderate. Moderators just moderate.

Yes.

Yes.

No, Scratch team doesn't always help make scratch. make Scratch. Cheddargirl doesn't help MAKE it.

And Mods don't have aterisks. Only Scratch team does.

Scratch Team members may have a variety of functions - they may be involved in the development of scratch, they may be involved in Scratch community related activities like Scratch Design Studio, they may be involved in research related to Scratch, or they may be involved in admin moderation functions on the site. Scratch Team members are identified with an asterisk next to their name on the main site.

Community Moderators mainly deal with moderation on the site, and have some involvement on community-related issues (for example, some help in Scratch Design Studio or help out with the current Collab Camp project). Most Community Moderators deal with forum issues, but some Community Moderators do have some functions on the main site (those are identified with a small circle next to their name).

These two wiki articles should help:
http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Community_Moderator
http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Scratch_Team

(although keep in mind, the "Community Moderator" article is a bit outdated, it still lists me as a moderator and not a Scratch Team member... where's a wiki editor when you need them?  tongue )
