Re: I need a PHP/MYSQL developer!

I'll start working on it after Kitcat 1.3 beta comes out (I need that to come out before anything else, sorry  sad  but I'll still do it after then  smile  ). I was thinking of doing the login scripts first, then start working on the punbb forums. Could you also send me the cpanel login and mysql password and username. I need those things to begin for sure

I am currently http://blocks.scratchr.org/API.php?user=GP1&action=onlineStatus&type=imagehttp://blocks.scratchr.org/API.php?user=GP1&action=onlineStatus&type=text and I finally got over 1000 posts.

Re: I need a PHP/MYSQL developer!

I was browsing the forums and happened to look at this post (seeing as I own my own website, Klub, which I coded myself). I noticed that you said you were using 000webhost to host your site, and I would like to warn you that if you have any community features (forums, blogs, etc.), which it looks like you do, I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND switching hosts.

I started making my website there, and it went well for the first 4 months. Then, out of nowhere, they shut my website down. I can only assume it was because of the amount of bandwidth my community was consuming (even though I was nowhere near the 10 GB they promise). Luckily I had a somewhat recent backup downloaded, so my site wasn't lost entirely.

After that, I found Squareserve.com to be a great, cheap replacement (if you visit my website, you can see I still use it). They offer much better service and features for a one-time payment of $10. And even if you don't want to pay $10, they even have a free plan with nearly the same stuff (but with ads).

I hope your site-making goes well. Just trying to give you some good advice to prevent anything bad from happening.

So I think the key to remember there is site backup. Don't worry though, there's nothing upload to it yet except a notice saying 'developers do not edit'  tongue

Re: I need a PHP/MYSQL developer!

Sad part is when you make a new page you have to update the database for the search engine D:

isn't that what a crawler is for? you could use google on your site.

a crawler automatically updates the database for your search engine like google.

Re: I need a PHP/MYSQL developer!

lol are you guys trying to make a realtime website or a something like um dynamic pages ??

The difference b/w dynamic pages and realtime is . taht realtime gets updated as soon as somebody or something causes changes . say u earnt some points so as soon as u got em u get em, but dynamic pages are generated on the time of request so u will have to load the page every n seconds for points to be getting updated or else they will only find out that points have changed on a refresh etc..

If you are making realtime then here is a small article i and some friends wrote : A COMMUNITY WIKI POST ON HOW TO MAKE A REALTIME WEB SERVER USING PHP or NODE.js WITH ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF BOTH

oh not to mention i might help you guys writing PHP/NODE/AJAX or whatever you use for your website as i am familier with all of them.
