Guys, the Wii is OLD. Very Old. It has a 729Mhz AIM PowerPC Processor. It has 88MB of RAM, and 64MB of GRAM. It's just not powerful enough. Wait until the next Wii. Then it may be a possibility. But until then, don't hold your breath.

That would be cool, but then you wouldn't be able to do keyboard projects on the Wii. Scratchers would probably be prompted to make a wii compatible version replacing all the keyboard key blocks. for example, when space key pressed would be when b button pressed. and mouse down? would be a button pressed?

I support!! I just don't know if it would work...

Maybe MIT could make Scratch for Wii U! After all, you could drag and drop blocks with the tablet, and perhaps you could use voice commands for arrow keys/buttons!

Why is this going on still?
MIT is not going to pay thousands of dollars to make an unsuccessful Wii game for one little, tiny branch of itself called “Scratch”.
MIT already has a not so good reputation because of the Apple incident.

It would be nice to have it on the wii. But hard to draw with the paint editor
Didnt they make a trackpad for the wii a few months ago? It could use that.

I really don't see how this would do any good. I see the point in it, but why have it on the Wii when you have it on the computer? Besides, if you don't have a computer, you don't have internet, so you can't download it anyway. It would be much slower and harder on the Wii, and wouldn't make any sense. It makes more sense to have it on something like a DS because it's portable. Few people take a Wii on vacation or to a friend's house. And if you were to take a Wii just so you can do Scratch, a laptop would be a much better solution. It would take a re-write of Scratch, in which the Scratch Team has already been working on for the last 2 years, and would have to be distributed by SD card or by downloading it on the internet, then transferring to an SD card.
And if that was TL;DR for you, the point is: It doesn't make any sense.

Its an awesome idea but.....I don't think wii has enough ram giga (SpElLiNg?) bytes. or any thing else that i don't know about. Even know people put a LOT of stuff on wii (i have one) I think the scratch program would be a little too much for wii. and if we put it on wii it would probably go slow and if that happened people would not like it a would not think of trying it on the computer. and if we put it on a nintendo no doubt....it CRASH!
If you have any ideas about or doubts about what i said feel free to reply

I have an idea: Scratch for the Wii! I know you can already access the online community on the Internet Channel, but I think there should be a Scratch Channel (downloadable on the Wii Shop Channel), where you can make Scratch projects and post them! You could use your cursor to pick up and drop Scratch blocks, to draw in the Paint Editor.
This would not just take the advantage of doing Scratch on your television set, but it could also popularize Scratch!
So, post what you think or any ideas. I would appreciate some ideas. So, come on! Us Scratchers could create a new channel for the Wii! This topic proves that anyone can do anything if you put your heart to it.
And you could have the option to use the wii drawing tablet thing!

That's APPLE! Nintendo already has WarioWare D.I.Y. I don't think they are as afraid of others making games on their system as apple is.

That would be a really good idea, but very hard to do. I support.

I don't think that Nintendo would approve. Plus, I don't know if the Wii has enough storage space. And the Wii is VERY hard to type and drag/drop on.
