Translating the Scratch Wiki?

The Scratch Wiki is only in English. I wonder if it could be translated into different languages (remember- not everybody can understand English). Anybody support?

Re: Translating the Scratch Wiki?

This was suggested first in the Spanish forum, then on the Wiki itself.
Read this (short) discussion on the Wiki.

RANDOM THOUGHT: If the tomato is a fruit, doesn't that make ketchup a smoothie?

Yeah... short.  roll

short enough...
and I guess it'll never be implemented. Many Spanish people agreed on the forums, but it's still about 10 people compared to the entire community.

Re: Translating the Scratch Wiki?

Interesting idea, I'd volunteer to translate some stuff to Spanish. But yeah, as Lucario621 pointed out, the original (English) wiki will always have more, complete information than all translations unless we immediately translated any edit or new page made (impossible).

Then again, the only reason multilanguage wikis exist is because not everyone understands English beyond the basics.  tongue  And since this site is mostly children, the Spanish (or any other language) speaking users usually don't understand English that much, that's why we tend to see projects in other languages, especially oriental languages.  wink

Again, if you guys ever do this just let me know and I'll translate as much as I can to Spanish, I've done some stuff for the Minecraft Wiki and I recall correcting some stuff in the Spanish language file for the Scratch program.  smile
