Well, as everyone says here, most Misc topics close automatically if they have been inactive for a couple of weeks. We have similar autoclose policies in other forum sections, too. 
Autoclosing might seem weird, but it there to help reduce necroposting. If a topic got autoclosed, it can always be re-opened by a moderator if necessary.
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease
