Actually, mine appear on the screen, but there is no "Sprite1" box! This happens more often with screen-straddling sprites.

This may have something to do with the glitch that has been around where the text dissapears on everything in the Scratch window. Was the sprite text or an image?

That happens to me a lot, but it usually happens when I've just opened a blank scratch project, delete the cat and then draw a sprite.

The sprite was an image, no text at all...

there was no cat sprite. i was working on an already uploaded game

That happens to me almost everytime in scratch which I have to go through great difficulty when that happens to make a game.
