"OBSOLETE!" block?

I downloaded one of WeirdF's projects, and to my surprise, there was a BRIGHT RED programming block that said "OBSOLETE!". Does anybody have any idea what old block this could be?

the OBSOLETE! block is in Sprite6.

Re: "OBSOLETE!" block?

That's what happens when you add a block to a project that doesn't exist in the version of Scratch you're running it on. Scratch doesn't know what the block should do, so it changes it to "obsolete!"

The block is just a placeholder, so it doesn't do anything when you try to run it.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: "OBSOLETE!" block?

Actually, in the small amount of research I have done, it stops the script if you are online, but it continues if you are offline.

Exactly, which means you can make an offline/online sensor:

Re: "OBSOLETE!" block?

If you try to run the script online which contains an "obsolete!" block, the script will stop when it goes to an "obsolete!" block, whereas offline, the script will continue.
