This is a question I need to ask. Please don't be offended.

My sister and I realized that almost every gay person on tv has a high voice. Is that some stupid thing the writers made them do, or is that actually true?

I guess I did word that post a little bit to harsh.  tongue

I'll word exactly what I said in a more respectful manner later. The post was talking about why Christians shouldn't cite the Bible as a reason why homosexuality is wrong, because the Bible was written long ago when lifestyles were much different, and 99.99% of people, including Christians, do stuff that's against the Bible everyday. If we all followed a Bible to a T, hamburgers would be illegal, we'd still have slaves, we couldn't eat pork and shellfish, men would still be treated as superior to men, etc.

No, I think they're absolutely fine. It's like saying a nationality isn't appropriate for Scratch.

I respect your opinion, but while it does say "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind" in Leviticus 18:22 in the Bible, the Bible was written a long, long time ago. Lifestyles are different now, and there are plenty of things the Bible says that are clearly broken and outdated.

You can't wear polyester

"You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together."- Leviticus 19:19

You can't eat shellfish

"But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you."- Leviticus 11:10

You can't get your fortune told

"Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God."- Leviticus 19:31

"As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people."- Leviticus 20:6

You can't eat pork

"You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you."- Leviticus 11:8

You can't get a round haircut

"You shall not round off the side-growth of your heads nor harm the edges of your beard."- Leviticus 19:27

You can't get a tattoo

"You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord."- Leviticus 19:28

You can't get a divorce

What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."-Mark 10:9

"And He said to them, 'Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.'"- Mark 10:11-12

Women can't speak in churches

"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says."- Corinthians 14:34"

Women can't have short haircuts

"Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her as a covering."- Corinthians 11:13-15

You have to cut off your hand when you sin to avoid going to hell.

"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched."- Mark 9:43

Slaves have to obey their masters

"Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ."- Ephesians 6:5

"Slaves, obey your human masters in everything; don't work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord."- Colossians 3:22

"Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back ."- Titus 2:9

"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel."- Peter 2:18

All that stuff was said in the Bible. Much less people believe it now. Lifestyles have changed. So do you believe that slaves should obey their master because of your religion? What makes those verses any different than the ones on homosexuality? It's biased to just choose that only some verses you're going to follow.

NOTE: I made a similar post earlier on this topic, but it got deleted. I tried to word it more nicely, and I hope I did a good job. Plus, I'm glad it re-did this, because much more information's covered, and I cited actual Bible verses.

You can't wear polyester Polyester is made from plastic. Plus, the Christian Bible is horribly mistranslated. Even if it was correctly translated, it needs the Talmud to make sense of it. I'm Orthodox Jewish and I wear polyester.[red]

Everything italicized is not in the Torah or Talmud. Plus, isn't it obvious that a slave should listen to his master?
