I wanted to create lots of games, and in the summer, I got into a gifted MN program called "Project: S.E.E.K." and they were teaching about Scratch. It looked cool.

Originally it was just to make games, but I quickly realized that A) It's kinda limited and B) I have too short of an attention span for that program.
While it has gotten much better over the years, I still lack the attention needed to put forth an adequate game. I hate having to copy/paste everything. I'd rather just type the thing and be done with it.

A friend showed me back in third grade, and then a few years later a lot of our projects were Scratch based, so I was pretty happy about that, as you can imagine. Now I program interfaces and operating systems.

My sister gave me my account. It was originally going to be used to invade Team Magma when the Pokémon teams were around and DarkraiWorld actually came on the forums.

I joined because I was interested in learning how programs are made. It was a new experience for me. ^^

I'm a programmer by trade and I've made a few games in other languages.
My daughter was asking me how to write games for the PC. I did a little research and told her to check out this thing called "Scratch". She downloaded it and started making a game with it. She got stuck on something and asked for my help. I played around with Scratch for a while to learn it enough to answer her question and discovered that I quite enjoy making Scratch games.
I would probably move on, but the developers have promised SWF export in version 2.0 so I'll stick around to see if it is true.
