(Sorry, right now i'm a new scratcher so I cant edit my posts. I'll try my best to type this right, but if I type anything wrong, tell me. I will remember that or ask the Scratch Team to fix it. Thank you. )
~Chapter 1- General Things About Scratch~
Welcome, New Scratcher! This is Scratch, the first step into professional programming! Let me tell you a bit about Scratch. Scratch is a programming language that is very simple, yet hard, to use. In Scratch, you can create games, animations, simulations, and much much more.
Scratch Projects are made out of 3 important things:
• Sprites
• Scripts
• And backgrounds
Yet there are alot of other cool things, but those are the 3 things you have to deal with every time you make a project. Let me explain about these 3 things. I'll start with Sprites.
Sprites are very important to have in a project, and they are like the star of the show.
Sprites are these drawings, that get controlled by scripts (that i will explain after this paragraph). Your project would do mostly nothing if there wasn't any sprites, that is if you make a project that you have to press space to turn the page (on the background) then thats a different story.
Scripts make actions happen in projects. Your project would do ABSOLUTELY nothing without scripts. They are like the ruler of sprites and backrounds. They can make just about everything happen. See the top viewed section on the front page? Those projects were probably made out of a lot of scripts, resulting in making a lot of things happen.
Backgrounds aren't as important as sprites and scripts, but they are used for many of things. For example, many scratchers use them to play BACKGROUND music. Now that makes sence.
~Chapter 2- The Website/Program~
Scratch.mit.edu is where you view projects, galleries, and the forums. Its practically the only place where you can view projects from around the world, other than YouTube. But really, this site is the big deal, a place to show off your EPIC creations! YEA!
The program is the start and end of your epic projects. Its like a workstudio, but only to make scratch projects. The 3 main things you have to worry about is in Chapter 1, so if you skipped it, I would read it right now.
Just experiment a few times with the scripts. Get to know what they do, before you get to the real deal!
~Chapter 3- (drumroll)...........The Forums!~
If you don't know what the forums are.....well....then I guess you aren't really bright. because you're on them right now!
[Unfinished]
I will continue when i'm a scratcher, so keep this post bookmarked. I want to be able to explain links and images and actually USE a link and an image. Sorry for my inconvienence!
This is the end! I hope this helped you learn a whole lot about scratch!

You should write a whole book on the forums. Could I help? I have been on scratch for almost a year.
ALMOST a year? I thought you've been on like, a gazillion years! I've had lucari0 like 1 and a half years.

(Directed to Ezekie) He can't do that, he's a New Scratcher. We already told you that on like 4 other threads
And good job ProgrammingPro, someday a group of great scratchers should get together and write an epic long forum post, all about programming, not about forums. Maybe one day I'll try one, and fail.
I erased the quote because it said I couldn't post urls
