Just wondering a few things about New Scratchers vs. Scratchers.
- What's the forum post rule difference? (180 seconds, 360 seconds, etc.)
- How long until you are a Scratcher? (Date, post number, etc.)
I know that Scratchers can have signatures and New Scratchers can't, but are there other advantages in the forum?
I've seen under posts "Last updated" or edited, whatever it says, but there's no "Edit post/reply" button on my posts. Why? Is it because I'm a New Scratcher?
Any answers help. I've looked in other posts and can't find the answers. Thank you!

Hmm . . . let's see if I can remember all the differences of the top of my head.
New Scratchers can't edit posts or delete posts. New Scratchers have a 180 second rule as opposed to a 60 second rule. New Scratchers can't have signatures. New Scratchers can't post in the Miscellaneous sub-forum.
I believe that's all. Does anyone know if I missed anything?
There is no specific condition to determine when you are upgraded to Scratcher. If you keep posting/making projects/being an active participant in the community, it won't take long.

Thank you! That answers my question. I've been here since January, uploaded 2 projects and have around 45 forum posts. I'll keep posting, creating projects and staying active so that I'll be upgraded.

(what demosthenes said)
I think you have to have 50 posts and have been on for 1 month and actively post projects.

That's what I was thinking, as far as the 50 posts and actively posting projects. I was literally just wishing I was only a few posts away from being a Scratcher...
Well, I've been on for about 6 months, I have almost 50 posts and I have 2 recent projects. (Planning on doing much, much more.)
I guess I'm close. I see you registered last month and you're a Scratcher, so you must be right. Thanks for the advice!

Well, I actually registered 1 and a half years ago (other accounts). I'm not sure If I'm right though, but i know I'm right about the months and project.

Ah, okay!
@ Harakou: I knew those as well, but thanks anyway. Can New Scratchers post BBCode? I'm glad Scratch uses BBCode and not HTML... I hate HTML. BBCode FTW.

It's really not any different; one uses square brackets and the other uses inequality signs for the tags.
Anyway, I believe that New Scratchers can use most BBCode, considering they can use the quote tag.

Wow, I guess I failed by quoting and then asking if I could use BBCode... Haha, I didn't even notice that!

I'm not sure about that "number of posts" thing. I've just seen someone with 5 posts with Scratcher under their name...
That was probably someone who registered on the forums before the "New Scratcher" status was added.
Remember though that your status is not determined by having any specific number of posts. It depends on the person, so just stay active on the site and forums!
