if racism isnt a huge problem today, then why do commercial airlines frequently not let Middle Eastern people on planes even though they aren't carrying anything? Why is there the skinhead movement? Neo-nazism? Why are Jews seen as stingers? just because racism isnt mainstream anymore doesnt mean its not as bad today. If i had a quarter for every rascist joke i heard, i'd be richer than Gates.

I'm not saying that racism does not exist anymore.

I am saying that racism is not as bad as it used to be. On the side of de jure, African Americans and all other races are granted equal rights in facilities and voting in the U.S..

Virtually all racism that exists today is therefore de facto. However, everyone is biased and everyone will be racist in one manner or another.

I do consider racism to the extent of slavery worse than the racism that exists today.

Simply pointing out the color of one's skin is not racist. Doing so in order to elicit feelings of inferiority or doing so to imply inferiority is racist. Thus, his comment was not actually racist.  I know the post is a joke, but I find the word often misused.

As to Zelda123' s question. I believe the current group feeling most, or at least a large amount, of hatred is the queer community.
