I've listened to Green Day (just once) and it is pretty good music! As for hating something because it is 'Cool' to do so, you should stick to your own opinion

A friend had it on his iPod, and I listened to a bit of '21 guns' and something else I don't remember

No! Never EVER put Green Day in the same group as Justin Bieber.

P.S. I do think that Green Day's best albums were more in the Dookie area, but American Idiot was pretty good, also. Though "21 Guns" might not be my favorite song, it's still several classes above anything like the auto tuned garbage that's popular now.

They are not in the same group (terms of talent), only in the level of hatred I have found on the internet.

People actually hate Green Day? I'll kill anyone who says they hate Green Day to my face. Grrr.

I hate Green Day. They sold out. Anything American Idiot-on is terrible IMO.

I liked his first four albums, but then he released Encore, which only had a few good songs, and too many songs like "Puke" and "Just Lose It". Relapse is the same, and Recovery was only average.
