That was more of a pre-alpha release really, but I suppose I should have said that there's no public release (beta or otherwise) yet.

Yeah, pretty much this. I remember people tried out a veeeeeeery early version (to the point that it was pretty much the same as 1.4 but in Flash, plus the bugs), in Scratch Day 2010 at MIT. There was also an URL that leaked once, but again, it's a version so early you probably shouldn't bother trying to find it.

Just to clarify one last time: Since the Scratch Team doesn't want the pre-alpha distributed, there's really no point to this thread. You guys have to wait for Scratch 2.0 like everyone else.
