For Collab Camp 2011, we invite Scratchers to form a collab and create interactive stories, which is the theme for this camp. A collab is a group of Scratchers that work together or collaborate on Scratch projects.

Looking for people to work with? Some Scratchers have created topics looking for collaborators in this forum and this topic. Check them out. Scratchers are also looking for people to work with in the Collab Camp Connect gallery

There are some examples here and the Collab Camp Orientation Project also serves as an example!

Awesome, the challenge is out! I have to say, it's quite unique, arguably better than the previous one. It's something that everybody can do.

It's sounds interesting, if nothing else.
I may do it, if I'm bugged enough.

I was wondering what is a interactive story
Well, simply put, an interactive story is like a book of sorts but by clicking on or something like that, you can interact with elements in the story. For example, you could have it so that when someone clicked on one of the characters in the story, they would say something or it would trigger a small animation. Here is an example of an interactive story. Hope that helped

I really like the theme, I have to say. It's going to be interesting to see what other people will do!

I'll have to make a new thread!

Just to add onto what lilacfuzz said, a game with a prominent storyline and characters will also be accepted.

How do you become a collab counselor, and what does one do?

If its an interactive story... an RPG would also be allowed then?

I don't believe you can become a Collab Counselor -- they were most likely chosen in advance by the Scratch Team. Collab Counselors help answer questions, provide feedback on projects, and support participants during the Camp.

We answer questions, provide feedback, and generally support the Camp I don't think there'll be any more Counselors, sorry
EDIT: Outposted

Hmm... you mean like an RPG where you walk around and fight enemies and such? Yeah, RPGs like that normally have story, and they're interactive, but this seems to be branching off a bit I'll ask about it...

Collab Counselors are there to help people get connected and help out! We chose the Counselors based on the ways they have collaborated positively in the past - we think they're doing a great job already in supporting everyone.

As long as there's some kind of story and it's interactive in some way, it counts! An RPG sounds like fun, and there would probably be lots of ways to do it. You could make it like an RPG game where the "reader" builds stats or the character is modified by actions or skills chosen. You could have a choose-your-own-adventure story. You could build games within different parts of a story. You could do so many things!

Kaj isn't really taboo, it's just that some people think false things about her...
I think you'll be alright using Kaj in a collab, but make sure she doesn't murder Scratchers or anything like that; keep it friendly for everyone

You can be in multiple collabs if you want, but make sure you don't get overworked
