Sprite "catagories"

I think that in the next version of scratch there should be a feature that would enable you to dub a sprite in a category.

For example, you could put all your enemys under one category, all your terrain, ect.

You would also have the blocks "if touching <category", and possibly other similar blocks.

This would mean you wouldn't have to use colours, or outline everything and ghost it, but you could actually organize sprites.

I believe this would be a great addition to scratch, and would like to hear your opinion.

Re: Sprite "catagories"

good idea but you could have this, one sprite holding all the terrains, another holding all the enemys so it is like you have an enemy that moves on each terrain which means you can change terrain costume and enemy at the same time!

Not sure I was very clear, but instead of one sprite reprasenting a group, it would be a 'folder', containing sprites, not a sprite.

I also propose there should be these blocks

"add sprite "dropdown" to catagory "dropdown (new)"

"remove sprite "dropdown" from catagory "dropdown"

"remove all sprites from catagory "dropdown"

"length of "dropdown"

and other "list-like" blocks.

Re: Sprite "catagories"

I would like to see this too. Very frustrating when making a big project all the sprites are mixed up and there are too many XD

Re: Sprite "catagories"

Even just to be able to tag sprites and then go through the tagged one would be better then now
