I was wondering, just hypothetically speaking, would someone be allowed to make a topic about evolution? You see, I know we're not allowed to have religious discussions, but if we were just talking about evolution, and had no mention whatsoever of the Bible or God or anything. Just discussing a scientific theory? Would that be allowed?

Probably, because as a a last resort, you can always claim God started evolution. Meaning,"He wouldn't have created us like that... you must help yourself... he probably created single celled forms and Earth, and wanted to see if we would survive."

But that's talking about God.

My theory has always been God started it and SLOWLY morphed us into humans over the millions of years.

But the rule against religion is so that it won't cause flame wars. This supports both sides.

Wow. That sounds surprisingly effective.

Well, if that hypothetical topic is allowed, then this can become it.

YAY!
This video provides a look at 4 billion years of evolution in 8 minutes.

That was awesome when evolution was compressed into 40 seconds. XD

That was quite interesting (specifically the first minute about how the cell was formed). I can't watch it all right now, since I'm doing something. But anyway. You know Richard Dawkins' theory about how life first started? I can't remember exactly how it goes, but I know that it's something like:
Billions of years ago, on ancient Earth, the atmosphere was very different. And some energy (maybe a lightning strike or a volcano or something) caused some some amino acids to be formed in the atmosphere. These then fell down to the primordial soup and formed the first life etc.
Proteins, the things that make up cells, are made of 20 different types of amino acids. In the many experiments conducted to recreate this theory, they only manged to create no more than 7 amino acids. They not only need 20 amino acids to create a protein, but they also need to be in the right order.
The same problem applies to Stephen Hawking's theory that animo acids came to Earth on an asteroid.

So, mods, I presume this topic is allowed?

And this is the theory SPORE uses, but I have a feeling they're ALL correct.
So, my theory:
Amino acids and the other molecules used to create life came from space. Then, they all came together at one point, creating the perfect sample of prehistoric DNA, therefore creating life.
Then, life started to change shape to vary and create smarter creatures, and then it kept changing and dying out until it created mammals.
Mammals then evolved and changed, and changed, until humans were made. Evolution ended there, but maybe it's still going on somewhere else, some other planet...

My point is, that's extremely unlikely to happen, because you'd first need ALL 20 amino acids, and they'd also need to be in the right order.

Well, since none of the mods have said otherwise, I'll take that as a Yes.

I think that God created thought and thought manifested a human form.

I don't think so. You should use the report button instead.

How would you know that they haven't seen this? I mean, I know that there have been several mods on since I posted this topic, and it has an urgent title.

Evolution is not a scientific theory. It is a faith. Evolution involves so many axioms, it is a religion.

No, it is a theory. A well supported theory, at that.

Evolution isn't religious, it's scientific. So it would probably be allowed. Evolution has been proven.

I believe in adaptation but believe the millions of years while God made us theory for evolution. Well I really don't know about the "beginning" of Earth. But nothing about it's been proved.
I was once called evil fro believing in adaptation. o.o
