Mozilla Firefox

Hi all,
I read in the papers the other day that Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) was experiencing security problems, I have now decided to switch to Firefox. It is pretty similar to IE7 and I was wondering, is there a certain browser that anyone would recommend for easiness to follow and work out?
Thanks
Toasty

Re: Mozilla Firefox

I like SeaMonkey. It's reliable and easy to use, but it crashes a lot :\ so make sure you always download the current beta release (unlike me)

Re: Mozilla Firefox

Well google's browser is pretty good and fast. I use firefox just for the addons. The best addons in my opinion are ad block plus and stumble upon. If you aren't interested with addons just go with google chrome.

Also, all browsers have security issues from time to time. If you have an older version of IE you are definitely going to want to upgrade to the newest one which is much better.

Re: Mozilla Firefox

Chrome is OK if you use Windows.

Firefox is the best! IE is the worst! If you use IE just because your computer is too slow and old to handle Firefox, you're just like me on my Windows!

How can it be reliable if it crashes a lot?

Not that much. Usually when I've had it up for about a day because I'm too lazy to exit it. Plus, I don't have the newest version  neutral  which never crashes until the make an upgrade

Re: Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is the best web browser, and Internet Explorer is by far the worst. My iPod touch has Safari, and that is pretty good to.

Re: Mozilla Firefox

My web browser gradings from worst to best:
[rating is out of ten, ten being the best]

Internet Explorer 6: 6.5
Internet Explorer 7: 5
Safari: 7.99991
Google Chrome: 8
Mozilla-based browsers: Usually 8.2
Firefox: 9

Mozilla-based browsers include Firefox, but it gets its own category. Others include, but are not limited to SeaMonkey, Flock, etc.

Updates:

CSSEdit (not really a browser): 7
Netscape: 8
Opera: 8.2

Lol, I have Mozilla, SeaMonkey, and Flock. What about Opera? That actually was really reliable and never crashed when I used it

Re: Mozilla Firefox

I like firefox but I think that is a bit overated. It is slower than google chrome and takes up a lot of resources.

There is a beta version of firefox called Minefield. It is actually faster than google chrome and is still compatible with some firefox addons.

Re: Mozilla Firefox

Just updated my ratings post with Netscape and Opera. Note that I can only evaluate browsers that I personally have used (yes, I have that many browsers).

Re: Mozilla Firefox

I love Firefox because it's free, open source and it runs on all major operating systems.

Re: Mozilla Firefox

I suggest you use Mozilla Firefox. That is what I am using right now. It is very safe, because it does things like:
1. Every time you make a new password, it asks you whether you want Firefox to remember it or not.
2. It always comes up with  Google every time you open a new internet window.
3. When you have 2 tabs, and you want to exit the internet, Firefox asks you whether you want to save the current session or not.

Also, Firefox updates regularly and automatically, so there's no need to worry about downloading the latest version of Firefox. Plus, it's all free!
I hope that, if you decide to upgrade to Firefox, that it satisfies you and helps your internet time feel safe and secure!
Happy Scratch-ing!  wink
