anime is ok, not my favorite though. sometimes anime can be violent, which is why i can barely watch any

Ah, but the same can also be said of some Western cartoons. tongue

There are some nonviolent anime shows out there like Ojamajo Doremi and Doraemon... although it is kind of a bit of shame that not many of them are well-known.

I'm a pretty big fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, (both the original and Brotherhood series) but not much else. My friend says I should watch Code Geass, but I'm not sure if I really want to. hmm

yeah, but i'd theres more violent animes than western cartoons. And western cartoons are more of a worldwide thing. Usually only really popular animes get officially english-dubbed.

I like anime, but mostly not that dubbed stuff. It is a total disgrace to humanity on most occasions. Fullmetal Alchemist is the only exception. It was the moonshot of anime, but somebody DUBBED SOMETHING WITHOUT RUINING IT. Pokemon, the dubs, which was all ok before, has now reached the point of sheer stupidity. I've also watched some Bleach and I'm glad they didn't even try to dub it. ViZ was self-conscious enough to not even TRY to. Good for them.

In other words, hearing Japanese and seeing it translated on the bottom of the screen is much more satisfying than hearing annoying actors with generic voices you've heard everywhere else without having to read.
