@cheddar: You didn't plan on staying? O.o
And I remember when you showed your first topic on the SCRATCH forums. XD

To be honest, I thought that I would only use my account for downloading stuff for my programming class, and using it to share my Scratch projects with the rest of my classmates (the first few classes we started off using Scratch, then we moved onto C++).
But lo and behold, I ended up staying.

*I didn't know who Paddle2See was
*I thought Paddle2See was a troll
*Because he uploaded constructive criticism onto my project
*Which involved a pre-generated wizard sending the Scratch Cat to hell.
"Nuff said.

I have no idea what it was like, cuz when I joined I didn't even know what the front page was. It's so sad that I missed some of the greatest Scratchers ever...

Ooh, nice thread! ^^ When I joined, things were very different from what they are now. Let's see.... ^^
*Moderators didn't exist. It was only the Scratch Team.
*My original account was called RedNeptune, but I lost the password for it and created this account.
*My first topic in the Forum was a question on Troubleshooting. The Scratch Team's helpful and very friendly response was what inspired me to become active on the Forum and help others like they helped me.
*Sprite request galleries were the first fad on Scratch that started after I created the first one.
*I knew everybody on Scratch because the community was so small.
*Featured projects was the most prestigious spot you could get on the front page.
*Everything happened for the first time.

When I joined:
*I was VERY annoying. Almost everyone hated me
*I used too many smileys and exclamation points
*I overreacted about everything and acted like a mini-mod
*Floatingmagictree was still alive on Scratch
*I made "advice" topics that nobody cared about
*I didn't join the forums until a year after I joined the actual site
*My projects were horrible
*I was friends with Moonlight2622...and then she was hacked and never went on again
*There was a small drama between me and Somelia. We're friends now, so don't worry

• It was 2007
• Archery Champion was massive
• archmage made the first scrolling games, Mario Recharged and Archnight's Adventure soon followed suit
• glough copied a bunch of projects without credit (at the time, that was as dramatic as it got)
• The forums contained: Announcements, Show and Tell, All About Scratch, Advanced Topics, Educators, Suggestions and Troubleshooting. Nothing else.
• Non-interactive projects were almost unheard of, but some animation series like Stupid Stickman were fairly popular
