One thing I’ve noticed lately is that almost every application I use has a “share with friends” future. That application would then post what you like to some sort of social network (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). I’m not saying that we should turn Scratch into a social network, but it would be nice to be able to share certain projects with you friends.
Ideally, there would be a new button next to people’s projects. Upon clicking it, that project would appear under a new section on the front page similar to the “My Friends' Latest Projects” section. This would be different (and in my opinion, better) than favorite-ing projects because:
a. They would be on the front page
b. They would be selected by your friends, whom you hopefully trust.
c. There would be a limit of how many projects you could share per week (say, 3?). That way, projects wouldn’t pass to quickly in the section. Sometimes people have hundreds of favorites, which wouldn’t work well for this new idea.

I like this idea. It sounds like a really good way to tell people about projects that you really like, and considering that the site is getting an overhaul with Scratch 2.0, it would be a good time to implement something like this along with all the other similar things they'll be adding.

Connecting to facebook/twitter seems a good idea... although I use neither
