GIMP Techniques

Share them all here...

Bevel
New layer... and then make something something like this

Then adjust the transparency til the effect is about right (make sure the layer has an alpha channel, and make sure this layer is on top of all other layers)  wink

Ocean Effect

Use the Solid Plasma tool under filter>render>cloud

Use the colorify to make it your ocean color

Use the perspective tool to make it look real, and then add a sky... you may get something like this...

Using Layers

Press ctrl+l for the layers window. Make any new elements of a picture/icon in a new layer so that it can be easily deleted or edited seperately. Add an alpha layer to allow transparency.
